Losing the Trail Above Tengboche
Fog, a wrong turn, and the kindness of a yak herder
The mountain disappeared into white. The trail disappeared with it.
A solo trekker takes a wrong turn in fog above Tengboche on the EBC trail. A yak herder appears with directions and a thermos of butter tea. Past-tense narrative in B1 register; introduces conditional structures.
