Numbers 1 to 100 in Nepali — with audio

Every Nepali number from one to a hundred — plus tens, hundreds, thousands, lakhs, and the quantities you'll actually need at a Thamel market or a teahouse. Tap any number to hear it.

एक, दुई, तीन

ek, dui, tin — one, two, three

The foundation: 1 to 20

These are the most-used numbers in everyday Nepal. Unlike English, the teens (11–19) are irregular — there's no clean pattern. Drill them.

South Asia uses a different system above 1,000. A 'lakh' is 100,000. A 'crore' is 10 million. You'll see them on rent ads and hotel bookings.

Lakh & crore: the South Asian system

South Asia groups large numbers by two digits, not three. A million in the West is “ten lakh” (दश लाख) here; a hundred million is “ten crore” (दश करोड). Rent ads, property prices, and government budgets are all quoted in lakh and crore — sometimes written as 1,00,000 instead of 100,000.

Hear it in practice — “Mero ghar bhāḍā saaḍhe ek lākh chha” means “my rent is 1.5 lakh” (NPR 150,000). Don't convert to millions in your head; learn to think in lakh.

Numbers are only useful in context. Pair them with shopping, food, and time phrases.
