Bandipur is a preserved Newari trading town strung along a car-free hilltop ridge, halfway between Kathmandu and Pokhara. Its main street of carved-timber houses, mountain views and slow pace make it a favorite stop to break the journey. It rewards an overnight rather than a quick photo stop.
